WHAT IS ROPE DROP?

Rope drop at the Walt Disney World Parks is the time when each park opens for the day.  So if any of the 4 theme parks ****** for instance****** Magic Kingdom opens at 9am you’re going to want to be there approximately 30-45 minutes early to go through security and online waiting to scan in for the day.

WHY ROPE DROP?

*Historically speaking, the Walt Disney World Parks are typically at their very least crowded when they first open, continuing into the first few hours of the morning.  During this time you can take advantage of low crowds and get on as many rides as you can while waits are low.

*As a result you will want to plan your morning directed first at a fan favorite attraction – considering those that normally develop high wait times as the day evolves. You will need to head directly to the chosen attraction as you enter the park.  Consider mapping out the next 2 high-wait-time attractions to head to after you have accomplished your first attraction.

*Additionally you will need to seek out the opening times per park for EACH DAY of your vacation in advance so you can master plan accordingly. You can locate this inside the My Disney Experience App! Park Opening / Closing times vary. WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE DISNEY PARKS THRILL RIDES? CLICK HERE!

One important thing you also need to keep in mind: regardless if you are staying on property or not would be researching Extra Magic Hours.

Occasionally Disney World Resort Guests are provided Extra Magic Hours.  This means some of the parks might open an hour early to only guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Property.  In turn this is an additional time of low crowds.

If you are staying on property you can take full advantage of this.
